Poem: THE WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN

Dorothy Dempsey on shifting sands and the void of hope in a troubled American moment.

(Generated with Gemini AI)

The world that we live in

Is as different as the rolling sea.

That have many waves to traverse,

before you reach a destination

wherever that may be.

The difference between the world and the sea,

Is that the world is a turbulent void,

with all its wasted energy.

 Of racism, wars, and hatred.

There can never be a destination.

Until a change comes from the powers that be.

God created this world and everything that is in it.

Without God in our lives, where would we be?

This vast world cannot continue this journey

With no destination or end in sight.

Wars and bloodshed, death in the darkness of night.

Children dying all over the world and sleepless nights.

Guns a luxury for some, bloodshed and death for others.

Gun laws considered perfectly alright.

No hope in sight.

Change is gonna come; we don’t know when.

Until that time, the world will remain the same.

A turbulent void of wasted humanity,

Prone to any human whim.
