As the Black Catholic Messenger prepares for a new chapter, we are spending time behind the scenes discerning how we can best serve the Black Catholic community and the wider Church. An important part of that discernment is listening and we want to hear from you.
Pope Leo XIV has spoken beautifully about the spirit of synodality as a way of living as Church: “to walk forward together, listening to one another, trying to discover what God is saying to us today.” He has also emphasized that every member of the Church has a voice and a role to play through prayer, reflection, dialogue and respectful encounter.
We believe this same spirit should guide the next chapter of the Black Catholic Messenger.
Whether you have been a longtime BCM reader, recently discovered our publication, or simply want to see more resources created for Black Catholics, your voice matters to us. Our mission is our north star. As we discern how BCM can grow and develop, it is essential that we first remain grounded in why this publication exists and whom we are called to serve.
